nokia n95 partsN95/nokia/ Hello all,
Is there any way that I can enable voice navigation for an "onfoot" transportation mode? It seems silly that Nokia discriminates those of us who cannot drive from those people who use cars. I read the explanation that turn by turn navigation would not be practical in a pedestrian mode, but I don't think I understand the reasoning behind such a statement.
Thanks for any tips.
Vick . ------------ Sure there is, instead of paying subscription fees for Nokia's Map program to enable tracking and voice directions... why not consider the one-off cost of a sat-nav program such as Garmin Mobile XT, for example. To my mind this is more advanced than the Nokia version, it also uses the internal N95 GPS and has a pedestrian routing option.
EDIT: Although never having used the pedestrian setting, I can't be sure that it has voice instructions! ------------ Hi,
Did you try this software? Do you know if it is Java-based? ------------ I've tried Garmin Mobile XT on a friends N95 for only a short time, which is why I'm unsure about pedestrian voice-instructions but I'm certain that it isn't Java-based.
Personally I prefer TomTom but as of this date, it can't be made to use the N95 internal GPS, which is a great shame as it's generally considered to be the best sat-nav program of them all.
