pirate copies of windows xp/
Hey,
My bosses laptop keeps slowing down, and he starts clicking on things until his laptop submits and hangs on him. His normal method for fixing this is to turn the power off and then back on (no waiting between off/on). So, I was with him this time when he did this and saw him hit the power button. Once his system came back up (thankfully!), he went on doing spyware scans because his laptop is so slow.

An hour later he says that his POP email account in Outlook 2003 has reverted back to older settings from a web host account we had about a month ago.
My thoughts are this...did his XP Pro laptop go back to an older system restore point with the older Outlook POP settings, when he turned it off-on, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Do the Outlook settings get stored along with a system restore point? I don't know!
Anyway, if this is the issue, do I just get him working again and create a new system restore point so when he turns it off/on again he would get his current settings back? Not sure how system restore works, or if this is even the issue.
