A few weeks ago i updated my firmware to v20 from v12. When i started the phone back up the applications i had on it were no longer working, so i followed the guide on here to 'remove tuck applications' which removed them. After this i bluetoothed the same applications from my pc and did exactly the same as before, but my problem is when its nearly installed i keep getting the error message 'unable to install'! I just wanna know if theres anyway around this without having to format my mmc! Hope someone out there can help, and merry xmas to all :-)

My suggestion is to do a hard reset on the phone...format the mem card and just reinstall your apps one by one

1. Remove the memory card 2. Using PC-Suite, backup your phone memory to the PC 3. Hard-reset the phone (*#7370#) 4. Restore ONLY your phonebook from PC-Suite, nothing else. 5. Set up the phone as though it was fresh out of the box, as new. 6. Using a card-reader, copy everything you need from your memory card (audio, video, etc.), to PC... NOT any of the installed program files though, if there are any. 7. Format your memory card and copy back the audio & video files that you stored on the PC. 8. Copy your program installation (.sis(x)) files to a named directory on the card. 9. NOW re-insert the card and install your programs from it, installing all programs to the phone memory, not the card. 10. This will mean that all programs are freshly-installed and should any corrupt or clash with another, then you can easily re-install from your card... The .sis files take up very little room. 11. It also means that at each stage of setting up the phone with parameters and adding programs to it, you can take a back-up of the phone memory as a precaution, in case any program you add causes problems... If it does, simply go back one stage by restoring the previous backup.
