samsung ln46a550 My HDMI port won't work :( on my LE32R74BD. I've never used it before since buying it so i'm a bit miffed to find it faulty just a couple of months out of warrenty. I first bought a cheapo tevion 8001 hdmi upscailing dvd player (only because it had 6ch out/DIVX) which would not work on HDMI. I thought it would be a compatibility problem so paid double the price of the Tevion and got a 1080P7/XEU thinking that a Samsung product must work with a Samsung TV. Of course it made no difference. I've tried 3 different cables, including one cirtified for 1.3 without much luck. The TV did work on HDMI once, I think it worked after disconnecting the TV from the power socket and reseting it but as soon as I seleted source again, it was greyed out from the selection. Perhaps there is a connection problem because the socket is recessed? I've had the power board replaced during warrenty so I don't know if the repairers caused the problem. .
Anyone have any thoughts on getting HDMI to work properly or does it need an expensive service? I've looked in service mode and can only see an option for two HDMI sockets.
Also I have two stuck pixels - can anything be done about them? Those fast switching video files are no good and Samsung rekon they can repair it, but how?
Thanks for looking. ------------ fixed it by modifying the HMDI cable - cutting back the plastic
