Author: web   Add date: 04/09/2008   Publishing date: 04/10/2008   Hits: 0
Hi,

I recenlty bought a nokia n95 8gb. I would like to download maps through the nokia map loader using a usb, but i am having a few problems.

I chose the data transfer option on the phone, then it says the following - USB DATA TRANSFER MODE ACTIVATED. MASS MEMEORY MAY NOT BE USED DURING THIS TIME. From what i have read i need mass memory to be acitvated, how do i change it to be activated?

I have downloaded the map i wanted from the map loader program but i cannot find it on my phone which leads me to think that i need to change the mass memory to activated.

Any help will be appreciated

Make sure to change the SMS settings to save msgs to 'phone memory' before connecting your phone to PC via Data transfer mode.
Messaging -> Options -> Settings -> Other -> Memory in use > choose phone memory

when you change to mass storage mode it 'disconnects' the phone from the card (easiest way to explain it) but it can't do that if the software is saving the SMS messages to the card because it's still using the card. Change the sms setting then go to mass storage mode and then you can change back
