LE32R41BDX - freeview and DNIe demo question

Ok, I saw the TV in the highstreet, read the reviews on this forum, browsed the net for a bargain (?804 from prc direct, came within a week) and bought it.
.

It states it has freeview, do I need a card to get this working as I can't seem to get any other channels than BBC, ITV, C4 & C5. And the DTV option states not available.

Also switching on DNIe just sits there with three boxes on the screen implying the option is infact only a demo. How do you swicth this on properly, or is "off" the only real option?

Do you have freeview ok in your area, also is your aerial newish (last 3/4 years)Both could affect your freeview.
Dnie, if this does not work via the Dnie button on the remote, it could be a fault or it is switched off in Menus.
------------

I live in Cardiff, where Freeview is available. My TV ariel isn't new, probably 7Yrs .

The Dnie button works. It switches it on and off, which is the same as accessing it via the set-up menu. It's just that when it's switched on, I get half the screen without the filter and half the screen with the filter. one half says Dnie off, the other says DNie On, and inbetween is says demo. the only way to get rid of it is to turn Dnie off.

Does this look like I need to contact Samsung for both problems?

DNIe is ALWAYS on. Turning it off is not an option. The demo merely shows you a split screen with half DNIe picture and half normal - so you can compare how good the engine is and how good your telly is.

With DTV you need to scan for channels first by going to the menu.

I have the same problem as andyw with the freeview, so i bought a portable digital aerial with amplifier. with this plugged in i couldn't even get the bbc channels after a digital scan. my aerial goes through the sky box, would that cause any probs, even tho i've plugged it straight to the le32 and still only got the bbc channels!!

Not all freeview channels are available eveyrwhere I think - did you check the freeview site with your postcode to see if you can get more? If you can get one/few then it sounds more like a signal/area problem?

I've just had a message sent me from Samsung tech support saying that In order to get all channels available the RF cable needs to be connected straight into the TV set, not looped thought a VCR or DVD recorder first - recordings are done through scart from TV to recording unit.
------------

I had a similar problem i found the plug and play on page 14 doesn't tune the digital channels. As i went through the manual i tried what it says on page 51 and it worked.Looks like a fault with manual to me.
I didn't need to feed the aerial straight to the tv to get my channels but if it reduces the cables its worth doing.
