samsung sch-u740
Hi,
I own a 40n73 and have been playing around with the picture settings for a while now but have not found a setting that works well yet. .
.
Can anyone post the settings they are using so i can try them out.
Also has anyone used DVE to configure their screen? I was going to get a copy but was unsure if i would need both the SD and HD versions to configure the screen properly for both sources?
And lastly, how would i be able to set the VGA to give the most natural pc picture?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Aron Johnson. ------------ Hi Aron
I think settings will vary from one set to another, so you may be best experimenting. However if you look through some past threads there are some posted by other members.
re VGA, I thought it was a straight signal that does not go through any processing, and all you can change are the basics - such as contrast/brightness. One thing you will want to do tho, is make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card so they can output in your sets native res (rather than getting the set to scale the image). When I got my settings right, it was absoultely amazing! ------------ Thanks for the reply.
Ive got some setting for freeview that im happy with for now but im still going to pick up a calibration disk when i can and give it a go but VGA is still a problem.
For regular use it looks great. Its when you come to view downloaded TV that it becomes a problem. Programs apear dark and even though ive played with the overlay setting within the nVidia drivers, its still hard to get everything to play at the correct brightness. It may be partly down to the files themselves but when they are played on my laptop screen they all look the correct brightness. Even the nVidia display calibrator doesnt work but considering the Tv has much higher contrast and displays far more colours then my laptops screen let alone the WCG panel, I can see why it doesnt.
I guess ill just have to keep playing with it until i manage to find some settings that work.
Thanks for your help.
Aron Johnson ------------ If you're downloads are not high enough quality, they won't look all that great on the TV.. are they HD downloads?
