samsung a900
I can only access terrestial tv - the remote / manual controls do not allow access to freeview/digital
I have seen the reports on problems with the remote / static - tried but does not help. .
.
I have been into Currys and tried my remote on the tv there - no problem.
I have call into Samsung for advice awaiting callback - has anyone experienced the same problem??
Dont really want to have to send TV off for repair ( had tv: it 6mths - also does anyone recommend extended warranty?) ------------ Prob already check this but can you get freeview in your area? There is a website where you can put your postcode in to check.. freeview.co.uk i think.. ------------ Freeview was working - for the last 3mths had a top of the range aerial fiited as well.
Samsung have arranged for an Engineer to come the the house to inspect it and hopefully fix in my house - they believe the Digital Tuner is broken as the chanel is Fixed on BBC 1 when viewing via digital. Note went though the motions for discarging static ( i.e.take out batteries and hold down power for 30secs).
V.Dissapointed that TV is knackered after 3 mths - also I am not keen on a TV sub contractor taking my set away for repair if they cannot do in my hopuse as you have heard shocking stories about them replacing new with old parts etc...!
Note -how do I change ' junior member' have tried in profile? ------------ Beware if it's a LE32R41BDX and the part you want is a Freeview Tuner number BN41/00595A Samsung won't have one as they don't stock it anymore!!! ------------ Beware if it's a LE32R41BDX and the part you want is a Freeview Tuner number BN41/00595A Samsung won't have one as they don't stock it anymore!!!
Does that mean he'll get a new set? :D
Criss - Junior Member is a rank... the more posts you make the rank increases, next one is senior member :) ------------ Apperenty they have a PCB but not a Digital Decoder Board if anyone knows where to get this part (number BN41/00595B) I would be grateful as all I want to do is get it fixed ------------ Still Not Sorted!
reported fault to samsung last Monday 16/10/06 - they advised a local repair company would be in contact to arrange time to inspect the TV - still no call - have chased Samsung twice and had to wait 15mins each time speak to someone who promised they wopuld arrange for call asap - awful service todate!
V.Worried about this Digital Tuner not being in stock and what samsung will do if this is the case. Not keen on idea of a TV repair firm taking TV away as you hear shocking stories of parts being swapped etc..
Also sometimes the sound crackles at 40 plus volume - anyone elase heard ------------ been 2 and half weeks since reported fault to Samsung - still no contact from service centre despite several promises form Samsung ------------ I'd keep a diary of all communications just in case you pursue a refund ;)
Re ext warranty: I'd always go for an extended warranty on big purchases like TVs... I got my TV from John Lewis as they offer a free 5 year warranty on all their TVs.
