just bought the ps3 to use just as a blue ray player,watched my first blue ray film,spider man 3 which i borrowed,i looked on here for the best settings,and i am playing it through the panasonic pt ax 100 projector.

i have to say that the picture was'nt as gobsmacking as i thought it would be,i just did'nt see anything that jumped off the screen.
is this film not one to use as a comparison.------------

------------ Like you, I got a little disillusioned with the Hi Def experience with dics such as Spidey 3 and 300. I even tried connecting a mates PS3 to my TV just to be sure that there wasn't something wrong with it! But the discs that restored my faith were the ones i mentioned previously, e.g. 2001, Beowulf. I'm pretty picky now when buying discs, and go for those which are reviewed as being good (though my Spidey 3 experience wasn't consistent with reviews!). Else i stick to standard DVD. Hope your HD experience continues to evolve and improve though Brian.
