I'm entering various words into my predictive text dictionary (by using the 'Spell' option, spelling them correctly, then pressing 'OK'), but it doesn't seem to be saving them - I have to re-enter them the next time I send a text. Anyone else had this problem? Any idea what could be done about it? http://hongblog.net Hi, when it gets your word wrong you must use the '*' button to get the phone to search for alternatives. If you use an alternative word often enough then it will become the first word offered over time. Make sure you have the latest firmware to ensure its not a bug. If it's not coming up often enough, try opening a new message and typing the selected word you want repeatedly. That way it'll be prioritised. Can't think of any other solution! AFAIK the amount of words you can add to the dictionary is very small. Something like an extra 8kb perhaps? So it's a case of first in, last out Thanks for those thoughts - I do have the latest firmware, and do use the '*' button regularly for spellings. The limited scope for adding words may be the issue (I don't recall this being an issue on earlier, much less sophisticated Nokia phones, though?) - is there any way it can be expanded (I have a 4 GB memory card in the phone)? i found this problem ,but only in animated message. if i open a normal message a previously saved word would appear ok. however in animated message i still have to type it out. Maybe I'm wrong but I have the n95-3 and if i send a text message that has a word not in the dictionary, and then use the same word later it will remember it. So maybe make a text message that you send to a friend that just has a bunch of words you might commonly use, and keep it saved in the phone. At least thats pretty much what I have going on, and it keeps all my favorite 4 letter words and special insults i use for friends saved. i'm not sure if mine is saving it either. i keep revising 'dont' to 'don't' or any word that has an apostrophe and it won't save it. Mine's started forgetting words too! Not sure when it started, but it's definitely not remembering some that I'm adding. Yeah my swear words arent saving either and you know i cant go through life without a constant stream of swearing!
