Nokia Video Manager
Author: web   Add date: 04/12/2008   Publishing date: 04/12/2008   Hits: 0
I am trying Nokia Video Manager for video conversion but the high setting for conversion is greyed out & it only says that the setting is "default setting is set by the phone" which is on medium? I want to change to high setting but Nokia don't say how to change setting to high & whether you have to do this with phone settings? Ive got an empty 8Gb card so its not a question of shortage of space!

Anyone any ideas?

Yes. Dispense with Nokia Video Manager (it behaved as you describe for me too) and use something like MediaCoder or Super for your conversions. Neither of these are particularly user-friendly, but don't take too long to figure out; and if you do a search on this forum you'll find other people's recommended settings.

Even i checked this issue on my phone too (Nokia N95), i too facing the same issue. When i checked in Help of Nokia Video Manager it says as following

You can select the desired level of quality for the conversion of video files. To adjust the quality settings, choose one of the following.

High quality: For video files of the best quality. High-quality videos are best suited for playback on the phone. Selecting this option will increase the file size of the video, and the conversion may take longer.

Medium quality: Video files of medium quality are selected by default. They are best suited for normal viewing and for use as e-mail attachments, for example. Playback quality and file sizes remain moderate.

Low quality: For low quality video files. Videos of low quality are well suited for mobile phones because of their small size.

For any changes to take place, click the accept button, or cancel if you wish to cancel any changes.

Note:
The availability of quality options depends on the connected phone.

Nokia Video Manager sets Medium quality as the default level.

If this is the case is N95's quality is not upto the mark to High
