Anyone connect their PC via HDMI to DVI?

Great forum, it's convinced me to go for a LE32R41BD, if I can just get an answer to the following.

I've just downloaded the LE32R41BD pdf operating manual and noticed this in the PC connectivity section:
.

"DVI dose not support PC function." (good spelling ;))

As I intent to use the screen primarily with a PC DVI to HDMI output, I was wondering if anyone here could confirm that it works with this type of connection?

thanks

I dont think it supports it as per its manual, but why not just use a VGA lead?

Had a go a few days ago with my aussie spec LCD LA26R51B and used the DVI to HDMI cable from vid card to tv. It workded I got a picture and looked great for movies but the windows desktop looked crap, and with this method I had no adjustment functions for aligning the screen on the tv. Had to make all the adjustments via the video card driver. So I will be getting myself a DVI to VGA cable.

I use the usual DVI to VGA adapter with a nice short 1 metre VGA cable, and I can't fault the picture (unless I look REALLY close!)

Thanks for the info guys.

I couldn't resist any longer, DVI or no DVI ;). Took the plunge and ordered one from Savastore.com for ?834.67 delivered, which seems like a good price. Hope it's not one of the batch with faulty rear panels.....I'll report back with my impressions.

Well, after waiting 3 days past the supposed delivery date from Savastore's imaginary stock, I got one from ebuyer for a few quid more.

Got to say I'm pretty impressed so far! Picture in HD mode is simply awesome, plus the VGA link to the PC gives better quality picture than my 17" LCD monitor. Standard TV is a OK, but not upto CRT, which is no surprise really. Back panel's OK too :).

DVI to HDMI does not work well in my 32m51b...
Strange colors apear... and the only resolutions that my PC detects are 1280x720
1600x900 1920x1080. I've tryed adding custom 1360x768 but it does not work.

VGA D-SUB works ok but I'm still having a problem related to sometimes it apears that the LCD is only at 16bits ... still need more tests

Next:Worried about upscaling... advice please?
