Can someone please help? I have mp4 and wmv files which I want to transfer from my pc to my N95 8G, but whenever I connect the phone via usb I can't get the software to work. Do I choose data transfer (on the pc suite, data transfer, etc menu on the phone)? If I do that, I don't get any further than the instruction on the PC suite to connect the cable (then nothing, just egg timer). If I choose PC suite, the connection to the PC doesn't seem to work.

I can, on data transfer, get the drive letter (F:) in explorer, so maybe can drag and drop, but this seems like a bit of a cop out way of doing it.

When you connect the cable to the phone the computer should beep. It should then give you an option on the phone for PC Suite, Data Transfer etc etc.
Select Data Transfer, now wait a moment or two, and a box should pop up on your PC giving you options with what to do like below.
I normally choose View folders, you can from there drag and drop.
OR as you said just go to My Computer and click Removable F Drive, and drag and drop. Same effect.
You can also connect the phone and choose PC Suite, then open up Nokia PC suite on your computer and select "Transfer Media" for the same thing. I find it easier just to drag and drop.

Thanks IJM. If I drag and drop WMV or MP4 files into the videos folder of the phone, will they just 'show up' when I go into the video player, or do I have to use a certain naming convention?

wmv files aren't supported natively on the N95. if the file is compatible, it will show up in the gallery. or you could use a file manager from the phone to look for it
