hi all
bear with me on this thread.. lol
there's a possibility we're moving to Germany later this year - my hubby is in the Army so nothing is ever certain!
http://hongblog.net
anyway, i have a 3 branded N95-1 (however i changed my product code to Euro-1 yesterday to get v21), hubby has a 3 branded N95 8gb.
i know our sims wont work in Germany, which is fine. but will the phones work with a German sim card in them? we've lived in Germany before, but the mobiles we had were bought out there so have never had to think about it before.
if we get them unlocked do you reckon all will be ok?!
thanks for any advice

Hello Sarah,
I live in Vienna, Austria - so I hope I can answer a few of your questions.
Since you two have "3" branded N95's I guess they're Sim-Locked too, which means you cannot use them with a Sim card from any other provider but 3. You can get your N95 sim-unlocked though. Be aware that Sim-locking and Firmware-branding is not the same and one doesn't eliminate the other.
So, anyhow - Get your N95 sim-unlocked so it will be able to accept other Sim cards. I believe 3 (if you ask them) will unlock your phone for a fee. Other stores out there also do this, you can choose whichever does it for the lowest price. I am pretty sure you can use European sim cards in your N95.
I am not sure though if your N95s will support the european 3G frequency band, I am not sure if European<->American 3G Frequencies vary. You said it's an N95-1 and a N95-2, so not the North-America specific N95-3? In this case, it WILL work...
Hope I could help you, and good luck with the move if it happens!
Thomas
