as title say ..how do i do it ???i have the nokia software updater but when i open the nokia software updater it doesnt go any where doesnt give any options and stuff.. any kinda help would be appriciated

Is your phone hook up to PC in "PC Suite" mode?
yes mate its is connected to pc suite mode..
and now its saying can not connect to "NOL SERVER"
Re-boot PC and try again.
ok so I tried to update the firmware, got the updater installed and it will NOT find my phone. PC suite finds it no problem and my work computer finds it but work won't let the program connect to the server to actually get the file. On my home computer it just gets to searching for a phone and never finds it. Again PC suite says it's connected and I've restarted the comp, just thought to try restarting the phone now so we'll see
ok update so if anyone sees the same problem. It may have been that I had a version of PC suite 2 back and I just got down getting to the latest and restarting but left the phone connected. I just switched USB ports and windows reinstalled the hardware and now it's working fine..... not really sure why but don't really care as long as it works
if you're using windows XP, here's how to check if the phone is detected by the computer.
-press the Windows Logo Key R
-in the "Run" box, type in devmgmt.msc and press enter
-in the device manager box, scroll down to the end. should see "Wireless Communication Devices". when you expand it, there should be a couple of Nokia N95 USB entries. (Generic, LCIF, OBEX (3 of these), Phone Parent). make sure none of them are disabled
then modify PC Suite connections temporarily
-right click the PC Suite icon in your system tray
-go to Manage Connections
-in the Nokia Connection Manager, uncheck the USB box
now launch the Nokia Software Updater. here's the latest version if you dont have it.
