Keep the old back-casing and replace it if the phone needs returning to your supplier... It's 10-second job to swap it over, as it just clips on.

the cosmetic parts are not covered by warranty. so you're free to change it any way you like. but when you send for repairs, you'd need to change it back to an original casing

I took my N73 to a NSC with a white genuine Nokia replacement houseing and asked them to fit it for me and they didn't say a word about the warranty,but then again it was an engineer doing the work!
