motorola razor/E815 Troubles....
Author: web   Add date: 05/03/2008   Publishing date: 05/04/2008   Hits: 0

motorola krzr k1/I have a Verizon Serviced CDMA E815 phone.

I have followed numerous tutorials that I found on the internet about how to seem the phone.
.

.

Here is where the problem lies...

P2KSeem. (SD or Original) The only way I can get the software to recognize the phone is connected, is by doing the MENU 048263 54* OK. When I ask for a seem to either be downloaded from the phone or uploaded to the phone, I get an hour glass, nothing happens.

I have the p2k.sys file for XP.
I have the 4 or 5 USB devices showing up in Device Manager.
I have tried PST 7.11 and 7.23.....why? What? the difference?

P2KTools. When I have the USB Motorola showing in Device Manager, the tools say connected. But there lies the problem. The famous hour glass shows up and then I have to manually kill the process for p2ktools.exe.

Why is everyone having so much luck, but others are not?

There has to be a better tutorial that someone can write that has gone through this same dilemma.

I would appreciate any help; really my preference is to get p2ktools working so I can delete all this junk out of my phone. The other stuff seems cool; I guess I could try in time, but go to get past this hurdle is my priority.

Thank you.

Wow. I can see that a lot of you have had the same problem; otherwise I would see some kind of solutions posted.

Well, I have made progress with the seem.

You have to have PST open, load the 4 Motorola devices that device manager find, then edit the seem. I know it works, because I also tested the loading of the E815M drivers in Motorola tools, and I can now create my own ringtones.

So, does anyone know the proper way to get P2KTools working with this phone?

Please help.

I believe P2KTools are for the Vxxx Series, not the Exx series.

So with this in mind, i have successfully edited my phone and all is well, here is how i did it...

Installed PST 7.2.3
Ran PST 7.2.3. (Leave Running in the background)
Let device manager install all 4 devices. (Use the P2K.sys file in P2KCommander)
Ran P2KCommander.
Edited my phone with no problem.

Forget Motorola Phone Tools. P2KCommander will let you install any MP3 with any bitrate and use it as your ringer.

Make sure you backup all your phone files, dont delete permanently.

Love IT!!!!!!
