If you could elaborate how the problem first occurred then we can give you a better solution.Perhaps it could be that the m/c didn't shutdown properly or Windows was not able to load the appropriate dll file of logon screen.
You can do one thing. If your friend has got XP cd(or you can get it from your other friends or somewhere)then just insert it,let it load and try to repair Windows from that. This should work.
Keep us updated on this matter if it doesn't work.We all here to help you.

I tried with Windows Xp sp2 cd but dossen't work.
It seems the pc restarted when he was on the net.I tried the F8 -(Last Knows Good Conf.) no use.
------------

Try doing one thing, while starting the machine, enter the BIOS settings and check if the fan speed and refresh speed are set correctly.

i will try that out,thanx

hi brother i will suggest you to donot format the pc completely but only for window's drive and if that is also not possible please insert the xp cd and go to the repair option

hopefully any of my given suggestion works.

Strange thing happened at work, there was a short blackout, about 1sec and then 2 of PCs started rebooting themselves at welcome screen, I entered in Safe mode which worked and did a checkdisk which solved the problem.
If its not hardware related just do a checkdisk, it ought to fix itself.
------------

maybe it was due to a bad sector in your harddisk which chkdisk corrected...next time you can go to advance startup option by pressing f8 during booting and choose LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION THAT WORKED....
------------

have you tried going to safe mode? (same as mentioned above but instead of choosing last known good configuration, choose safe mode

see if your computer will load successfully

Hey there buddy!

Your problem seems that you have a corrupted files that needs the OS to boot, or maybe a virus.

Well, maybe I can help.

I always use these method and also earned money...

Follow this steps:

1.) Go to CMOS Setup and change the boot priority to CD ROM.
2.) Restart your computer, insert the WindowsXP Installation CD and let it boot to CD.
3.) When prompted to install windows or repair, select on repair.
4.) Sometimes it will ask you where is your current windows, just select it then enter.
5.) You will see a command promt: C:>
6.) type:
FIXBOOT
7.) It will repair your Windows Boot files.
8.) Then restart your computer.
9.) Your windows will now open then fixed any problems, if you dont know why this happen,
restore your windows to an earlier time.
10.) TRY IT!!!
