motorola w385/I have a one month old V3C Verizon unit that I beomcing somewhat frustrated with. I bought this phone after seeing what a friend of mine had on his that is with USCellular. Wow what a difference from Verizon to USC. He has all kinds of menu options on his that isn't even on mine. My software is of the 04 version. Where and how do I get all the Verizon crap off of this phone so I can use it the way Motorola intended it to used?

The only way to get rid of Verizon's UI (User Interface, read: Ubiquitous Insult) is to flash your phone with Alltel's firmware (search the forums for the download). However, that action will effectively end Verizon's support of your phone. If something goes wrong with it, you would be SOL. You would also lose your ability to connect to Verizon's web access, Get It Now and other services. You would not be able to update your phone with *228, so after a while you will find your phone losing signal strength.

All in all, you are better off keeping Verizon's software on your phone, or switching your service to USCellular, which has the features you seem to want.
