freeware for windows xp/ hi i have a dell Dimension C521 it had vista installed when i got it and my son wiped it to put xp on it now i cant get my graphic adapter working was playing all 3d games great befor he did this thank you .
Welcome to tsf. It was probably good that he upgraded to xp rather then vista. What video card is currently in the machine? Are the drivers for it installed? ------------
well it said it cant find the graphic adapter for the nivia softwear he downloaded and has try to update all drivers i got a disk with the computer with drivers ect but since installing xp this disk wont read ------------

Try installing the video drivers through the device manager properties. Select update driver , then allow it to search the internet for the driver. ------------
have tryed this but it wont go online to do this for some reason says would i like to go online but then it ends. so downloaded the driver for nvidia c51 tryed to install it but get this message on set up nvidia program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware ------------

You need to download both chipset drivers, the nVidia "GForce 6150" driver under Video and the Sigmatel driver under Audio.
To set it up properly:
1. Boot into Safe Mode by hitting F8 during the boot screen.
2. Uninstall all the motherboard, video and audio drivers from your system and reboot. If it prompts you to install any drivers, just cancel.
3. Install the nVidia chipset driver, reboot again.
4. Install the AMD processor driver, do another reboot.
