N95/nokia/prodam nokia n95 8g Hi there,
I just noticed an interesting thing, which is really annoying. If I want to listen to the radio, I cannot put it to the loud speaker until I don't plug in a headset...how's that? :) Is there any way to put the radio out to the speakers without plugging in the headset?
Greetings, neu .
. ------------ Theres not mate, stupid eh? ------------ Well, that's one of the most stupid things I've ever seen! I hope it will be fixed in the future in some firmwares.... ------------ Wel, it uses the wire for the headset as a radio antenna? so even if you could use the radio without the headphones the reception would prolly be really bad.
I don`t know if this is a fact with the n95, but every other phone i have had does excatly the same. ------------ Whoops, forgot about that LOL! ------------ Well....it sounds reasonable, but if I unplug the headphone after it's on the speaker, it still works. So I don't really get the point for not having the option without plugging it in. Maybe a notification screen would have been enough to let you know that the reception can be worse if it's not plugged. ------------ also the same with sony ericsson phones. not sure about other brands though. maybe its a hardware limitation? ------------ I wondered the same thing. No loudspeaker available till insertion of "headphones". I do understand the need of some sort of antenna and I also would like to be able to use FM radio without the need of inserting something into the 3.5mm jack to do so.
All the things the N95 does and I am still greedily poised to ask for even more. Patience is a virtue and imo I can not wait! ;-) ------------ since you guys have alot of free time, why not do a mod and hack the hardware or software?
i'll be the first one to try it if any of you succeeds! ------------ Nokia add a feature to the phone, they can't have people complaining it doesn't work as advertised. (Although, history might prove otherwise!)
The Radio works flawlessly with the antenna, but sometimes does not when there is no antenna. Therefore they make it a requirement.
Previous models would disable the radio altogether when the headphones are removed, at least the N95 doesn't (according to your post - I haven't tried therefore I can't verify and I don't have my headphones on me now to test!)
