durabrand car stereo mp3 player/ Just come across this TV being advertised on various websites tonight!! http://www.digital-point.co.uk/model-3654.html . http://www.digitechelectronics.com/model-3163.html This is the first I've heard of it, has anybody else? Does anybody know why its a PX8 and not a PX80 and what the difference is? Would this be technically inferior to the TH42PX80? Are they going to bring out a TH50PX80? Is there an afterlife? I can't seem to find any reviews as I don't think its out until next month! This TV has just added to my confusion over buying a new TV!! Right I'm off to top myself!! ------------ ------------ The PX7's had one HDMI port and lower contrast than the PX70's check out richer sounds who do the 50 inch PX7 for ?00. Some stores sell it for more than the PX70 but i dont know why ------------ ------------ Hi guys I ordered my TH-50PX8 or is it TH-50PX8E today, delivery is thursday. It has the latest G11 panel but I still dont know why its so cheap? I paid 1030 gbp here in Slovenia. I will need help setting the thing up, I hope there will be more owners here soon. ------------ Most differences have been mentioned above, although contrast is lower on the PX8 than the PX80. Link below gives comparison of 50PX8, 42PX8 and 42PX80 Look down and you can see the differences http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_G...80B&p=TH-42PX8 ------------ Well the comparison that cought me off guard was to the TH-50PV71F model, which is 200 quid more expensive here and is....well older and not as good. ------------ The panel is the same (G11) but 50PX8 has V-Real 2 picture processing (instead of 3 in PX80) , less connections (1 HDMI and VGA port missing) and inferior sound system. ------------ So does anyone know if a 50PX80 is coming. SD looks as good as it can on such a big TV. Will there be a owners thread? I need a set of good settings...should I just set it up as same as the 42" PX80? The dynamic mode is terrible BTW...insane that setting like these even exist by default. ------------ On the Panasonic website (both uk and swiss), the PX8 range is said to have a contrast of 10.000:1, not 15.000:1 as mentionned in the Excel spec linked above. The PX80 has 15.000:1 but no 50' planned.
