car cd compare mp3 player price review shop shopzilla smart/ Hi!
I now got my media center ready, the PS3 sits unopened on a shelf, and my money is ready to be spent. But I'm really not sure if I should buy the 46PZ85 now or wait for the 50PZ80 to come out... .
What do you guys think about the size difference concerning 46" vs 50"? Anyone bought either and regretted it later?
The stores here in Norway can deliver the 46PZ85 now and I really don't know how long I'll have to wait for the 50PZ80. And how much will the 50" cost?
I'm going from a 26" CRT so I guess the jump in size will be enormous but I don't want to regret going for a 46" later on.
Hmm... choices, choices. ------------
50 50 50 50 all the way!!! ------------
The 50PZ80 will be available in June in the UK. 46PZ80 in May. ------------
IMHO if you went for the 46" you'd soon be wondering what those extra 4" would have been like.
Plus with the ongoing discussions on here over whether some of the 85's extra features (specifically Intelligent Frame Creation) are worth bothering with the decision suddenly seems a little easier to make.

Seems to me that as IFC isn't worth the extra cash, you'd be better waiting a month and going for the 50" PZ80. That's what I'll be doing if the upcoming 9th gen Pioneers, (also June), work out too expensive. ------------
Thanks for the replies guys!
I'm really twisting my brain over this. My girlfriend wanted to go for the 46" right away (of course) and I was just about to order it yesterday, but it was out of stock everywhere.
I've been thinking the same thing as most of you. Will I be regretting not waiting for the 50" later on. The problem is that June in the UK may equal July in Norway. And the prices will probably stay pretty high the first 2-3 weeks.
At this moment I'm leaning towards buying the 46PZ85. I need a TV! ------------
Man, get the 46 now. July seems like an eternity away especially when you'll be looking at an unused PS3 mocking you from the shelf.
When you watch a bluray or play GT5p and GTA IV on YOUR new 46" the 50 won't even enter your head especially when going up from a 26".
Good Luck ------------
I'd go and compare a 50" screen with a 46" and see whether the difference is important to you. I personally don't see what the rush is when you're buying a tv that could last you 5 years or more. The 80 and 85 use the same panel and are fudementally the same tv. Companies like Panasonic want to be able to price discriminate betweem potential customers. i.e. they know that different groups of consumers will be prepared to pay varying amounts for a tv. They start with a basic tv for the lower end, then add features to enable them to charge a increasignly greater amount to maximise profits. I don't see any of the added feature on either the 85 or 800, (apart from 4 hdmi and pip/pap on 800), as actually worth having and, therefore, not worth the extra expense. The 50" PZ80 is the screen to get IMO.
