Yep, new 3.3 version out for Symbian S60 v3 (this should probably be cross posted but i only have an N95... )
.
This version includes the following features:
1. File transfer - You can now send and receive files from other fringsters and MSN friends. More services will be supported soon.
2. Chat improvments - The chat screen was (almost) built from scratch, we've added 'Typing indication' so you can know when the other side is typing, we've added a real time status icon, easy file sending from this screen and more.
3. Multi language support - The fring client is now translated to 7 languages: English, Russian, Italian, German, French, Chinese and Spanish (Let us know if you find any funny words... cool?)
4. Bug fixes - Many bugs were fixed in this version, you'll have to try it out... :-) yep... its all good? I'll answer my own question.
Its not good no. Should have bothered updating as it now just doesnt fricking work. Just going round and round in circles on the AP. *YAWN*
Summats not right here. Interesting you had that problem. So did I but I assumed it was a local network problem, as I'd already reported a 3G cell problem this morning. I just thought the inability of Fring to login was connected. I fixed it by cancelling and quitting Fring then relaunching. It eventually logged in and was fine all afternoon after that.
That aside, it does seen to perform better. Great! Thanks. Works fine. yeah, as I said over at Fring.com the way I had to sort it was to remove the software and the APS server and reinstall. Also removed an access point but I dont think that had anything to do with it working on reinstall. Not gonna put up with this crap.
Uninstalling and not bothering again.
Wont get past registration screen no matter what. Been like this for several versions. Interesting bug not to catch. If its like past versions then the UI is rubbish , it takes up alot fo resources and is inherently flawed. Shame since it has nice integration of major IM services. yeah, Ive had a few problems... in fact the version before the previous version NEVER EVER worked for me on my home router, just sat on the ogin screen.
SOOO FRUSTRATING.
Have been around talking to the Fring guys since the early days tho so I can get most issues sorted thankfully, but I totally understand your frustration!
Quote: AHAHAH I did actually... you think thats what sorted it?!?!
Fring are aware and are 'testing' the issue.
Mostly though it seems to rock around deleting the access point and resetting it.
Quote: yeah, was the same for me... but I couldnt be arsed to do that everytime I wanted to use Fring, so it was easier to delete the AP and reinstall.
