This happened to me. I took out the batteries, unscrewed the tiny screw underneath and fiddled around a bit - nothing scientific or damaging but it started working again.

despite that I did it and . . . . . IT WORKED !!!!!

This is a build up of static in the handset, top tip for anyone this happens to. Take the batteries out press tv, to discharge, and replace the batteries and it should work, no need to take the back off!!! usually happens with Sky remotes
